Training Methodology

Jon Teaching Manual Handling Training

OFI's Key Instructor Training support literature has been successfully utilised by industry for over 11 years. It has always been extremely well received throughout industry as a valued training/support to Manual Handling Instructors.

For more information, visit the Educational Resource section.

All of our manual handling training programme's are written using evidence-based material. This is undertaken using research from HSE guidelines on manual handling, studies on correct lifting techniques from university research centres, ergonomic publications, biomechanical back pain studies from leading journals and publications by experts in the field of physical therapy.

Easy to understand

Our physical therapy training team can provide 'real life' examples of injuries that they treat weekly, which reinforces the message of the importance of applying good technique. They use jargon free, every day language teaching the 'why' behind the 'how' of good technique that people can relate to. The training ensures that delegates acquire safe lifting and handling practical skills relating specifically to their work environment and reinforces the importance of good technique being applied to all aspects of everyday life.

The delegates we train really enjoy learning about what happens to the body when you stress the tissues using poor technique, they can then really appreciate what good manual handling technique is all about. It’s training for life rather than just sitting through another Health and Safety course.
